Concept scene: a computed-tomography scanner in a clinical imaging room

Applications

Medical Equipment

Power for imaging, diagnostic and patient-connected equipment, where leakage current, isolation and the applicable safety standard decide what may be used.

The photograph is a concept scene illustrating this kind of equipment. It is not a Raitop customer project, site or facility.

Medical equipment is the one application where the electrical specification is not the whole answer. Whether a given power supply may be used depends on where it sits relative to the patient, what the applicable standard requires of that position, and what the manufacturer has actually had certified — for that exact part number, in that exact revision.

We do not publish a recommended part list on this page. Suitability and certification are checked per part number against the current official documents before we propose anything for a medical design. A module that fits the electrical requirement can still be the wrong choice for a patient-connected position, and certification status varies by model, production date and destination market.

What we check before recommending a part

  • Where it sits. A supply feeding a patient-connected applied part is judged differently from one powering a cabinet fan. The means of protection required follows from that position, not from the power rating.
  • Leakage current. The figure the manufacturer publishes, under the condition it was measured, against the limit that applies to your classification.
  • Isolation and creepage. Reinforced or double insulation where the standard requires it — stated on the current datasheet, not inferred from a similar model.
  • Certification evidence. The actual certificate: who holds it, which models it names, which standard and edition, and whether it is still valid. We send the original document, not a summary.
  • Change control. Whether the manufacturer will notify a change that would affect your file.

How to get a recommendation

Tell us the equipment type, the classification you are designing to, where the supply sits in the system, and the rail requirements. We come back with candidate part numbers, the official datasheets and the certification documents that apply to each of them — or tell you plainly that we cannot evidence a suitable part.

This page names no recommended part numbers. Suitability and certification are checked per part number against the current official documents before anything is proposed.

Can’t find your part number?

The portfolio we quote from is much wider than the part numbers published here. Send the part number, quantity and destination — or describe the application — and we will come back with a written quotation.
