DC/DC Step-down Modules
Non-isolated switching regulators, 0.5 A to 2 A
The K78 family is a non-isolated switching regulator in the footprint of a 78xx linear regulator. Swapping a 7805 for a K7805 typically takes the dissipation from several watts to a fraction of a watt, with no board change and no heatsink.

Reading the K78 part number
K7805-1000R3 reads as: K78 family, 05 = 5 V output, 1000 = 1000 mA output current, R3 = the package and revision. So K7803-1000R3 is the 3.3 V version of the same 1 A module, and K7805-2000R3 is the 2 A version of the 5 V one. Check the minimum input voltage: it rises with the output voltage.
